Friends of the Choir
The performances of the City of Dunedin Choir ensure that Dunedin audiences have the same opportunity as others around the world to enjoy choral masterpieces that have been performed and admired for centuries.The Choir's concerts provide an uplifting and enriching experience for our audiences, while the soloists, choir and orchestra experience the challenges of rehearsing and performing wonderful music.
Presenting concerts is a challenge and the Choir spends many voluntary hours fundraising. We invite you to become a Friend of the Choir and together we can promote a rich culture of wonderful music and continue to bring outstanding soloists and world-class performances to Dunedin.
Become a Friend of the Choir and in exchange for a minimum annual donation of $100.00 we offer you:
- One free ticket when buying one or more tickets, for concerts presented by the Choir in the year covered by the donation (normally 2 or 3 concerts).
- attend pre-concert talks and post-concert suppers
- attend weekly Choir rehearsals
- receive Concert Watch newsletters
- and of course you would be welcome to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Choir, the date of which is announced in the Public Notices of the Otago Daily Times. (Friends have speaking but not voting rights.)
How much does it cost?
A donation of $100.00 per person per calendar year. The City of Dunedin Choir is administered by the Dunedin Choral Society Inc. which is registered with the New Zealand Charities Commission as a charitable organisation (registration number: CC29845). Simply quote your name or Friend ID number when you buy your tickets.How do I become a Friend?
Write to the Secretary to provide the following information and please include your donation (by cheque payable to the City of Dunedin Choir):- Title, first name and surname
- Postal address (including post code)
- Telephone number
- Email address
Your Choir Friend ID card and a receipt will be posted to you upon receipt of your details and donation.
